Lula's Chocolates' Shipping Policy

We use only the finest and freshest ingredients to make our gourmet chocolates and confections. In our chocolates, there are no additives to help make them become more shelf stable or to raise their melting temperature to help prevent melting during shipping. Therefore, we do everything we can to make sure you receive your chocolates in pristine condition while trying to keep shipping charges down. We only ship via Federal Express (FedEx) because of the care they take with your package.

Most of Northern California

For the better part of Northern California we can ship products via FedEx Ground and you will receive your product the next day. However, FedEx Ground does not guarantee next day delivery. We can also ship 2nd Day Express or Standard Overnight. Ground and Overnight shipments are sent out Monday thru Thursday. 2nd Day shipments are sent out on Monday thru Wednesday. Any order received before 2:00pm will be shipped same day.

The Rest of California

For the rest of California we can still ship FedEx Ground but it takes 2 business days and FedEx does not guarantee delivery in 2 days. We also ship via 2-Day and Overnight Standard.

Everywhere else in the United States

We ship everywhere else via 2nd Day, and Overnight Standard via FedEx.

Cold Weather Shipping

Cold weather is more determined by location that actual calendar period but for the most part it the cold season runs between mid October to mid April. We keep a constant watch on temperature. Warm is any thing above 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Cold season shipping does not require cold packs to be included in the shipping boxes. During the cold season we can make shipping exceptions and send items by ground that will take longer than two days. Call us to make exceptions.

Warm Weather Shipping

Warm weather shipping requires that we add Styrofoam liners in the box and cold packs to keep the chocolates from melting. There is a small handling fee during this time period to offset the cost of these added protections.

Shipping Costs

To see your shipping cost, place an item in your cart and on the right hand side of the web page is the shopping cart. Just below the list of items in the shopping cart, click on the link that says Determine Shipping, Sales Tax, and Preferred Delivery Date. This will allow you to put in your zip code and preferred shipping method and then your shopping cart will reflect the shipping costs of your items.

All packages are shipped giving FedEx the permission to leave your package on your doorstep if you are not there to receive it. Please select a day for delivery that you will be there to receive it or select a business address for it to be shipped to. Lula’s Chocolates is NOT responsible for packages that are delivered but not received do to theft before they are collected.

Additional charges are incurred if the address is not entered correctly. FedEx charges and additional $10 if the address is entered incorrectly. These charges will be added to your credit card if the address is entered incorrectly.
